GCCSA Referees meeting 3:00 PM -5:00 PM Shelby High School.

Changes come from time to time. I will try to keep you up dated.

1. u17 games will be 9v9 players.

2. At Kings Mountain:

U10 field has been moved to field 1, closest to parking lot. U12 field will become field 2, farthest from parking lot.

3. Modified rules for U9, U10, U11 and U12 ONLY:

Law 12 – Fouls and Misconduct

Conform to FIFA with the exception that an indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team at the center spot on the halfway line if a goalkeeper punts or drop-kicks the ball in the air from his/her penalty area into the opponents penalty area.

4. Be sure to start games on time or as close as possible. Keep a close eye on your watch. AR's help your center referee.

5. Ask questions when you do not know or are not sure. Do not wait for something to happen and create a problem for yourself. Remember no question is dumb.

Are you planning to referee for GCCSA this Spring, 2006? You will need to let me know by doing two things: first, fill in the mark off sheet and return it to me. You may send it by e-mail or snail mail or bring it to our meeting. Two, we will meet on Sunday, March 5 in the Auditorium at Shelby High School. The meeting will begin at 3:00 pm and finish at 4:30 pm. We will discuss the coming season. Agenda will include: protecting the goalkeeper, send offs of players and coaches, referee positioning, foul recognition, website score reporting, some info about The Arbiter, local rules for this Spring and 7+7.

It is very important that you be present for this meeting. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday. Soccer season is here. Classic games begin Saturday and the Rec season begins on Monday, March 6. Be ready for a busy next six weeks
